Bonsai
Bonsai is a wine bottle packaging design created for a limited number of bottles of an IGT Toscana Rosso wine produced by Podere Le Ripi in Montalcino, Italy. The wine comes from vines grown in confined spaces, which leads the plants to root deeply and find nourishment far below the surface. To reflect this rare origin, no printed paper label is used. An image of a vine is screen printed directly on the glass in platinum, gold and matt black. The decoration measures 13 by 4 centimetres and is applied to a bordolese bottle.
Bonsai Wine by Paolo Rossetti has been selected as an outstanding example of communication design by the A' Design Award. Bonsai Wine received the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design recognition program that recognizes superior design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
