Taste of Springtime
Taste of Springtime is a packaging design for baijiu, a traditional Chinese spirit. The form recalls an hourglass, created by joining two small bottles, one above the other, as a sign of shared time. At the joint, a reversible figure and ground pattern forms the silhouette of a human profile, and two facing profiles appear at the base. The two bottles hold small volumes and different strengths, which supports moderate drinking alone or with others. The front pack is made of a paper and plastic material that is recyclable and naturally degradable.
Taste of Springtime Baijiu Packaging by Wei Li was featured as an exceptional example of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Taste of Springtime Baijiu Packaging won the Iron A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2024. The A' Packaging Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design award that celebrates outstanding design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
