Using Stuff
The Using Stuff project reconstructed the movie poster using various types of objects. Artworks are inspired by the original form and function of the object as well as the signature of each movie. The objects used were made with easy to find items anytime, anywhere. The project's theme covers societal issues that are currently in question (Russian-Ukraine war, Covid-19, etc.). It is designed to be easily accessible to viewers by associating themes with famous films such as James Bond. Each work is made up of vivid colors and simple backgrounds, allowing viewers to focus more on the subject.
Using Stuff Poster by JUYOUNG HWANG was highlighted as an innovative representation of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Using Stuff Poster received the Bronze A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2022. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition that recognizes outstanding design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
