Jie Yi Couture
Jie Yi Couture is a brand identity created for a couture studio in Shanghai. The Chinese character Jie means to solve and to deconstruct, while Yi means one, unity and consistency. The logo is built with Chinese typography, and parts of the characters are replaced with symbols of a mannequin and scissors. Pattern-making sketches form the main visual element, and their lines, curves and notes create a detailed pattern. The identity is applied to packaging offered in several sizes. The design conveys craftsmanship and a semi-custom tailoring service.
Jie Yi Couture Branding by Yiwen Tu has been featured as an exceptional illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Jie Yi Couture Branding received the Iron A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2021. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program which honors exceptional design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
